Country Fisherman Hwy 80 West. Buffet lunch with Coke under $10. I'm not a huge fan of the buffet table lunch environment, but the quality and price are reasonable. The fried catfish was as good as any I've tried. Full desert bar. The place was packed. Arrive early or expect to wait.

Cherokee Inn - Thursday Roast Beef Plate. Price with Coke and tip $12.00. Very popular on Thursdays. Located on I-55N. Exit at Northside and follow frontage road N.

Great fun and good food at Kyoto's in North Jackson. Sunday morning arrival aroud 11:15 ensures a quick seating. The Sunday menu is priced under $10. See ya there!

The restaurant opened Saturday on the outskirts of Piteaa, a small city of nearly 42,000 residents about 430 miles (700 kilometers) north of Stockholm, Sweden's capital.

For almost 80 years, Marguerite Schertle was the spunky waitress just about everyone remembered.
Five years after her retirement, she's still the waitress few can forget.

Schertle died in her sleep on Wednesday at Gilchrist Center for Hospice Care. She was 100.
Known as "Miss Marguerite" to customers at the Woman's Industrial Exchange, Schertle was remembered as a quickstepping waitress who delivered tomato aspic and charlotte russe.
"She was irreplaceable," said Elizabeth Nilson, vice president of the Woman's Industrial Exchange board. "She worked so hard for so many years."
Until she retired at age 95, customers said she was a "Metroliner on her feet," racing between the kitchen and tables in her white orthopedic shoes and blue uniform secured by a puffy bow.
